John Bluck John William Bluck was the 14th Anglican Bishop of Waiapu〔(Anglican Diocese of Waiapu )〕 from 2002 to 2008. Bluck was born in Napier〔(Anglican Taonga )〕 on 22 July 1943, educated at the University of Canterbury and ordained in 1971.〔Crockford's clerical directory London, Church House 1975 ISBN 0-19-200008-X〕 He began his ordained ministry at Holy Trinity, Gisborne〔Who's Who 2008: London, A & C Black, 2008 ISBN 978-0-7136-8555-8〕 after which he was editor of ''The New Zealand Methodist''. Later he was Director of Communications at the World Council of Churches then Professor of Pastoral Theology and Communication at Knox Theological Seminary. From 1990 to 2002 he was Dean of Christchurch Cathedral when he was ordained to the episcopate.
